The questions people ask before renovating with a design.
Is a design worth it for a small renovation?
A design fixes what to demolish, what to build and the sequence of work. In small renovations it avoids rework and helps you get quotations from contractors.
Does the design include the civil work?
No. The design is the drawings and the specifications. The civil work is contracted separately, with the design in hand. If you want supervision, ask in the brief.
How much does a renovation design cost?
Posting the project is free. Each professional sends their own quotation, with the fee and the timeline. You pay stage by stage, as you approve each deliverable.
Do I need an approved design to renovate?
It depends on what changes. Renovations that touch structure, the facade or common services usually need the society's or the municipal corporation's approval and a licensed professional. Describe the renovation in the brief and the professionals tell you what applies.
How does the professional understand the property without visiting?
With photos, a video, the measurements and the plan if there is one. A visit, when it helps, is fixed directly with the professional.
